I am SAMUEL Hui

I’m Samuel Hui, a wedding and portrait photographer based in California. I fell in love with photography at a young age, playing with my dad’s film camera and later bringing a camera everywhere I went in college.

When I planned my own wedding, I experienced firsthand how much the right photographer matters. That experience shaped the way I work today — with care, intention, and a deep respect for the moments that mean the most.

I want my couples to feel comfortable, supported, and understood — like they’re spending the day with a trusted friend who happens to be holding a camera.

I believe in observing carefully, collaborating gently, and capturing moments as they truly are.

I believe the most meaningful photographs happen when people feel free to be themselves. My approach is unobtrusive and observant — allowing moments to unfold naturally while staying attentive to the flow of the day.

I’m drawn to quiet in-between moments just as much as the big celebrations — a deep breath before the ceremony, a glance across the room, a laugh shared when no one else is watching. These moments are often the ones that matter most.

On a wedding day, I balance awareness and intuition. I stay timeline-conscious so nothing important is missed, while offering gentle guidance when it’s helpful. My goal is to document your day honestly, beautifully, and in a way that feels true to who you are.
